Today I played!!!

My dear friend Tracy issued a June Creative Dare a few weeks ago. The dare was to use the quote:

"Let go of whatever holds you back and no longer serves you because you only get one shot in life" ~ Unknown

Well, with five days left in the month, I finally got it finished!!

This idea has been tooling around in my head, and I am happy that I finally did it. Surprisingly, it even turned out better than I had thought it would.

I have been desperately wanting to use my new Ranger Dylusions Stamps and Sprays on a canvas to hang up here at my house. I ABSOLUTELY love the girl on the Ruby Rainbow set. She is me!!!! Ask anyone, REALLY, my hair looks like that most days. (All sticky uppy and curly!) Plus, if I had an unlimited supply of money, I would wear a new pair of cute rubber rain boots every day of the year.

I wish I could say I took video of me making this, or even took pictures of the process. I did not. Ugh. I remembered to take one picture kinda toward the beginning, and then the final completed project.

I started with a 12 x 12 canvas. The muslin was torn into 1 inch strips and glued on.
After it dried, I used my Ranger Dylusions sprays to start the layers in the background.

The entire list of products used are:
12x12 canvas
Inkssentials glue n seal matte finish
Torn strips of muslin
Ranger Dylusions sprays - cut grass, fresh lime, squeezed orange, lemon zest, and London blue
Ranger adirondack snow cap dabber
Claudine Hellmuth studio paint - landscape green and dab of yellow
Tim Holtz distress ink - peacock feathers, shabby shutters, ripe persimmon, and squeezed lemonade
Ranger archival ink - black and vermillion
Assorted red and blue washi tape
White card stock
Bubble wrap
Red and white twine
Tim Holtz Tiny attacher
Ranger Dylusions stamp sets- around the edge, bordering on the edge, how does your garden grow, bags of bunting, ruby rainbow, and inbetweenies
Foam squares
Red Marker
Unknown quote given to me by Tracy

I built up the background in layers, and then stamped and sprayed my pieces for the top.

Absolutely LOVE how it turned out in the end!!
Thank you, Tracy!!! You constantly challenge and inspire. Monday nights wouldn't be the same without you.
