Bo Bunny Rejoice Samples

Yesterday, I spent the day making Design Team store samples for The Scrapbooking Studio in Bloomington, IL. I was working with the Bo Bunny Rejoice Christmas line. I simply love this line. Red and green are my favorite Christmas colors. I am a traditional girl and the new more hip Christmas colors just don't look right to me. Pairing the red and green with the beige really made it classic. The samples will be on display at The Scrapbooking Studio in Bloomington, IL, until the line sells out. Stop by the store and check them out while you enjoy the store.

Amy and Bobbi have been working overtime making some changes at the store. They have some new displays for all the inks, embossing dies, and stamps. It gives us SO MUCH more room to display even more items. Come in and check it out!!!!

Thank you, Bo Bunny for coming out with such a classic Christmas line. Rejoice is simply stunning!!

Here are the items I designed:

This first item is a one page layout. I loved the script of the Rejoice and wanted to use it as the base of the layout. There were only a few pictures that I wanted to showcase, so it worked out perfect. I made the entire page pop by adding a white doily, white ink around the edges, and white snowflakes. They are cut using a Vagabond and some Tim Holtz Snowflake Movers and Shapers. The snowflakes are attached using 1/4 inch foam tape so they appear to be popping off the page.

The Santa Claus trinket came with the Buttons that coordinates with the Bo Bunny Rejoice line. The red and white twine and small safety pin added the perfect touch to this tag.

Had to do a close up of this picture. The siblings rarely look this happy together. As mom, I celebrate this when it occurs.

The card is a 5x7 Christmas Card. I slipped a piece of Tim Holtz Glassine paper in as one of the layers because it went so beautifully with the Bo Bunny Rejoice line.

This is a Canvas Corp canvas that I embellished with burlap, distress ink, and items from the Bo Bunny Rejoice line. I love the way it turned out. A great canvas to display during the entire holiday season.

The last item I design was another one page layout. In this one, I used some Claudine Hellmuth Traditional Tan paint on top of Green cardstock for the base. The snowflakes are stenciled on using a The Crafter's Workshop stencil TCW14 and Ranger's Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink. Some more twine and another Bo Bunny Rejoice trinket was the perfect final touch to this simple, but unique, layout.

I have discovered, that when designing Christmas items in October, one must motivate ones self by listening to Christmas music. I recommend Five Iron Frenzy's - You Gotta Get Up, It's Christmas Morning!! It worked perfectly. ENJOY!!!

"Your grace is enough" mixed media canvas

"Your Grace is Enough" Mixed Media Canvas

It's time for my FIRST ever video!!!!!

Just a warning, who knew that I would have a problem talking? LOL.

The following is my first ever video tutorial. It will show you my thought process behind making one of my canvases. I had no plan prior to one minute before I hit record. It was very scary. I have no idea how I would ever do this LIVE like, my dear friend, Tracy Weinzapfel does on a weekly basis. It has taken much editing by "The Cute IT Guy" that I live with to get it to this. Even with his expert assistance, the video is poor. I am not loud enough and I often was "in the zone" and forgot to talk. Plus, The Cute IT Guy had to become creative to cover up the heat tool I use to dry throughout the video.

It has been a learning experience for us both, and actually fun. I will be doing more in the future and hopefully each video will improve. Enjoy, stretch your comfort zone, and create!!!!

Remembering Dad with new memories

5 years ago today, I lost my Dad to a massive heart attack. It has taken me years to come to terms with the devastating sucker punch that I received that day. That morning I was prepared to call him because it was his birthday, by lunch I was dealing with his death. Last year, I decided I was no longer going to spend October 12th in a zombie state remembering. I have decided that from now on, I make new memories on October 12th. On this day, in 2011, I was at Disney World with my hubby and kids. Today, in 2012, I am opening a new business on Etsy. This will be an ongoing adventure that I know would make my Dad proud. Please check out my current canvases and take a moment to hug those you love today. God bless!!
