Woohoo!!! Today is the start of our Blog Hop Weekend!!
So much fun to play with Genuinely Jane Studios albums AND 100 Proof Press stamps.
Please make sure you read all the way to the bottom and get in on MY GIVEAWAY!

Each blog has at least one prize to give away, 100 Proof Press is giving away a $30.00 gift certificate, and GJS is giving away an awesome grand prize.  In order to participate, you must visit each blog listed at the bottom of this post and leave a comment.

If you have stumbled onto my page and want to start at the beginning of the blog hop,
then head over to the START at 100 Proof Press http://www.100proofpress.com/_blog/Blog

I decided to do a canvas for this little Blog Hopping adventure. The following is the evolution of my canvas and the evolution that each of us go through as artists. Enjoy!!

I started off by spreading some Wendy Vecchi embossing paste
through a Artistcellar Romans Stencil onto a 6x6 primed canvas.

Love the texture on the canvas after it dried.

Next, I painted the entire canvas with Deco Arts Copper Metallic Acrylic Paint.

Needed more texture, so I decided the sides needed buttons.
I used white, but since I painted them in the next step, you could use any color.

After the buttons, I painted the sides and a little over the copper with Deco Arts Americana Gloss Enamel Indian Turquoise. Love the way the texture looked with these two colors together.

Added some corrugated cardboard to the corner and then it needed a bit more blue,

My cute birdy was just one of the pages from the Genuinely Jane Studios

I then used Timer Brown Stazon and some fabulous
100 Proof Press stamps to give the bird some pizazz.
I used the Biggest Squiggle, Circle of Dot with Empty Center, and Honeycomb Texture.

Added a simply black fuzzy brad to the hole to make a bird eye.

I inked the edges of the canvas with Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink, splashed some white paint on the canvas, and then glued the bird, a doily, and a flower to the lower half of the canvas.

The saying "Inside all of us, patiently waiting, sits a tiny little adventurous bird" was done with a label maker and attached using tiny foam squares. The saying reminds me that our true self is patiently waiting inside all of us wanting to come out. We just need to set it free!!!

Ok, now who wants to win something?
